Ascri Environmental is a land recovery operation through the deposition of inert waste on land to restore exhausted phases of a clay quarry to agriculture and nature conservation interest, including waterbodies and wetland habitats.
This will be a progressive restoration project and gives due consideration to the Local Biodiversity Action Plan.
We are committed to play our part in enhancing the local environment through our restoration and after-care work of the quarry.
The name ‘Ascri’, meaning ‘Ash Ridge’, was chosen for our land recovery operation to honour the local community and its heritage. The village’s history dates back to the Domesday Book of 1086, when only nine people lived there, long before it became the ‘Escrick’ we know today.
